a new layout!

it's been forever since i last made a scrapbook page. because i have been home sick with the flu, i have been checking out all of the new products at 2peas, and although i would love to by them, i cannot. you see, years ago i was scrapbooking daily. i was on a few design teams and had a few items published in magazines and books. my best friend owned an online scrapbook store. i always had the newest products. shopping for new supplies was almost as fun as using them. needless to say, my stash grew.

after my family and i had to move across country and move all of those supplies, i decided that i need to use up what i have. so, i did this layout of my son for 2 challenges. one at 2peas; to use a circle on a layout and the other for the february challenge at sketchbook 365. it felt good to scrap again and i actually did 2 other layouts that i will share later.

2 layouts in 2 days!

can you believe it? i scapped another layout! after some blog hopping, i found another challenge blog and decided to use my stash and create another layout. this blog, scrapbookers anonymous is fun because it challenges you to use up those long forgotten scrapbooking supplies. i have to admit that my entire stash is old. i haven't bought anything new in a couple of years except for a few sheets of rub-ons and a pack of stencils. when we lived in michigan, i had a huge studio with tons of space for supplies. the space was great but it was all too easy to keep buying the new products that came out because i had lots of room to store them. after moving to california where our house was considerably smaller than our michigan house, i didn't have any room to store my scrapbooking goodies. sadly, they sat boxed up in my garage for about a year and a half. i ended up selling some things at a garage sale when we moved in july to yet a smaller house. so my goal now is to use what i've got! this challenge was to use a map and brads. the layout is of my son at holland state beach in michigan during our summer vacation last july.

punky scraps challenge #47

i decided to scrap yesterday! haven't done that in probably a year. in doing so,  i realized how much i really love scrapbooking. it feeds my creative side and i love to preserve the memories of my family in this way. with this layout i used challenge #47 at punky scraps. this type of composition is so much my style so this layout came together in just a few minutes. love that!
